Who we are

The Studio Weddings is a wedding film studio based in Maryland, filming across Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia.

This policy explains what personal information we collect through thestudioweddings.com, our inquiry form, our texts and emails, and the services we provide to couples who book with us, and how we use and protect it. “We” and “us” mean The Studio Weddings; “you” means anyone who visits our site, contacts us or books with us.

Information we collect

What you give us

• When you ask about your date: your name, email, mobile number, wedding date, venue, approximate video budget, when you're looking to book, and anything you tell us about your wedding.
• When we talk or you book: what we need to plan your films, such as your timeline, the people who matter most to you, your planner's or other vendors' contact details, your billing details and your signed agreement.
• When you pay: payments are handled by our payment providers, such as Square and Afterpay. We don't store your full card number.

What our website collects automatically

When you visit our site, we and our partners collect your device and browser type, your IP address, the pages you view and how you arrived (for example, from one of our ads), using cookies and similar technologies. See Cookies, the Meta Pixel and analytics.

Footage from your wedding

If you book with us, we record video and audio on your wedding day. It can include you, your families and your guests. See Your wedding films and footage.

How we use it

We use your information to answer you and, if you book, to make and deliver your films:

• To reply to your inquiry, check your date and recommend the coverage that fits.
• To schedule calls and send what you ask for, such as our collections guide.
• To plan, film, edit and deliver your films.
• To text and email you about your inquiry and your booking.
• To take payments and keep business records.
• To understand how people use our website and to measure and improve our ads.
• To meet legal obligations and protect our rights.

Every marketing email we send includes a way to unsubscribe.

Text messages

When you give us your mobile number and check the consent box on our form, The Studio Weddings may text you about your wedding inquiry, your date's availability and related follow-up, such as scheduling a call and your booking.

• Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
• Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP at any time to stop our texts; we'll send one message confirming you've opted out.
• You don't have to agree to texts to book with us. You can always reach us by email.
• No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

How we share it

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only as described here:

• With the filmmakers on our team who film your wedding, so they know your timeline and the moments that matter to you.
• With service providers that run parts of our business for us: our website, inquiry and messaging platform, email, video calls, e-signatures, film delivery and payments. They may use your information only to provide those services to us.
• With advertising and analytics partners such as Meta, through cookies on our website (see the next section).
• When the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.
• If our business is sold or transferred, as part of that transaction.

None of the sharing above includes text messaging opt-in data or consent.

Cookies, the Meta Pixel and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies so it works properly, so we can see how visitors use it, and so we can measure our ads.

• Meta Pixel. It tells Meta (Facebook and Instagram) when someone who saw one of our ads visits our site or sends an inquiry, so we can measure and improve our ads. Meta handles that information under its own privacy policy. You can change the ads you see in your Facebook and Instagram ad settings.
• Analytics. We may use analytics tools to see which pages people visit and where they leave, so we can improve the site.
• Fonts and media. Our pages load fonts and media from other services, such as Google Fonts, which receive your IP address in order to deliver them.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work as expected. Our site doesn't respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals.

Your wedding films and footage

We use the footage we record at your wedding to make your films. Your agreement explains how we deliver them, how long we keep the footage, and how we may share parts of your films in our portfolio, such as on our website and social media.

Your films are delivered in a private gallery and app. Anyone you send your share link to can watch them, so share it with the people you choose.

If you, or a guest who appears in something we've shared publicly, would like it taken down, email us and we'll review the request promptly.

How long we keep it and how we protect it

We keep inquiry details as long as we need them to respond and follow up. We keep client records as long as we need them to deliver your films and to meet tax, accounting and legal obligations. When we no longer need information, we delete it.

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, and only the people who need it for their work can see it. No way of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so we can't promise absolute security.

Your choices and rights

• See, correct or delete your information. Email [email protected] and we'll respond within 30 days. We may need to keep some information to complete your booking or meet legal obligations.
• Stop texts by replying STOP to any message.
• Stop marketing emails with the unsubscribe link in any of them.
• Limit ad tracking through your browser's cookie settings and your Facebook and Instagram ad settings.

Depending on where you live, your state's privacy law may give you more rights. Contact us and we'll help.

Children, other sites and changes

• Children. Our website and services are meant for adults planning a wedding. We don't knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
• Other sites. Our site links to other sites, such as The Knot, Instagram and Facebook. Their privacy practices are their own.
• Changes. When we update this policy, we'll change the date at the top of this page.
